Youth Justice and Diversion Supports
The Youth Justice Program supports young people ages 12–17 who are involved with the youth justice system. Our goal is to help youth build skills, access the right supports, and create positive pathways for the future.
What We Do
- Provide support in Youth Justice Court and work with Crown, defence, probation, and community partners.
- Help youth and families connect to services such as mental health, education, and community programs.
- Develop diversion and support plans that focus on growth, safety, and reducing re-offending.
- Coordinate assessments or counselling when needed.
Who Can Make a Referral
- Youth Justice Court
- Probation services
- Court-ordered referrals (e.g., Section 34 assessments)
- Duty counsel
- Youth or caregiver seeking support for themselves
Who Is Eligible
- Youth ages 12–17.
- Involved with the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) through court, probation, or related court orders.
